SCHEDULE

DAY 1

Delegates arrive at MAMUN Wednesday evening. We hold a Rules Session to familiarize delegates to MAMUN debate rules – this is a great primer and refresher for how debate runs at MAMUN. The conference is then formally kicked off with the Opening Ceremony, featuring the country roll call and delegate speakers. Next, Regional Caucuses are the best way to start to get acclimated as a delegate from your assigned country! We use this time our first night of the conference to allow students to become introduced to other countries within their region, discuss topics, ask questions, and get to know one another. Being such a large conference, it’s very likely that your school and delegation do not match up to others in your region, this first night experience is helpful to get your delegate hat on!

DAY 3

Our second day of debate begins with committee and Security Council sessions. After dinner, delegations come back together within the General Assembly to open up debate on a special topic. Security Council remains in session while the larger committees come together.

In General Assembly, delegations work together as a team to advocate for their respective country’s policy. Honors are awarded to top delegations from debate in General Assembly.

During General Assembly, smaller groups of delegates participate in crisis simulations. Crisis simulations take you out of regular debate and focus on quick moving scenarios, debating “real-time” world crises in a more informal setting. In accordance with their country’s policies, delegates must take quick, decisive action to try to resolve the scenario at hand. In the past, crisis scenarios have focused on cybersecurity, pandemics, natural disasters, and emerging terrorist threats. Honors are awarded to top performers in Crisis Simulations.

Friday evening wraps up with our delegate dance – another social activity for delegates to hang out and spend time with their classmates and newly formed friends.
